One of the best ways to get information about adoption agencies, lawyers or any other resources you may want to use in creating your family is to talk to actually people who are going or have been through the adoption gauntlet.
Yahoo groups are a convenient way to get in touch with prospective adoptive parents or successful adoptive parents. You can search through archives of information, post your own questions and download files from the group library.
You'll need to set up a Yahoo account, or sign in with a Google or Facebook account. Each individual group will have it's own application process. Most are quick and ask for some basic information. The ones I signed up for were:
Adoption Agency Research - Domestic
2adopt: An ABC Adoption Group
Adoption Scams
Gay Dads
You can set each group to send an email alert each time something new is posted or you can log in to read them. I personally hate having my email blasted with topics I'm not interested in, so I just browse the posts online. Some of the groups are more active than others, but they are a wealth of information.
